How to customize multiple product pages independently on Shopify? 🛍️

You have multiple product pages on Shopify, but whenever you make changes to one of them, the changes also apply to others? Don't worry: this is the normal operation of Shopify.

This issue is not specific to the Story theme, but rather because multiple products often use the same product page template.

Why do all my product pages change at the same time? 🤔

When multiple products share the same Shopify template:

• they display the same structure
• they use the same sections
• visual changes apply to all pages linked to this template

For example, if you add an image section, a text block, or a before/after section, it will also appear on other products using the same template.

The solution: create a new template ✨

To customize a product page independently, you need to create a new product template.

1. Open the theme editor

Go to the customization of your Shopify theme.

2. Select a product template

At the top of the editor, click on the dropdown menu and then on Product.

3. Click on "Create a template"

Create a new template starting from the default product template to save time.

You can give it a simple name, for example: Product pencil B.

4. Customize this new template

You can then freely modify this template:

• add sections
• change the layout
• create a different product page from the others

Important step: assign the template to the right product ✅

Once the template is created, you need to assign it to the relevant product.

• scroll down to Theme template
• select the newly created template
