Story Theme did not come out of a specification. It came out of a store that did not look like what we wanted to make of it.

Our story
2019
Where it started
As merchants ourselves, we kept hitting the same wall: the themes on the market decided for us what we were allowed to show. Story Theme came out of that.
2021
The licence becomes a subscription
A theme bought once is frozen at its release version. The subscription made it possible to fund updates instead of invoicing them, and to lower the entry ticket.
2023
Scaling up
Customisation is pushed as far as it can go without becoming unreadable, and the ecosystem around the theme takes shape: member area, documentation, update tool.
2026
Story Studio and nested blocks
The theme is composed block by block in the editor, and Story Studio generates visuals and copy from your catalogue. One update a month on average, for six years.
What we hold to
We answer
Support is handled by the team that writes the theme. It is what comes up most often in the reviews.
Speed is not negotiable
A feature that costs every visitor tenths of a second does not make it into the theme.
We only state what is measured
A figure shown on this site has to be traceable. What we cannot source, we do not write.
You keep control
Everything is set in the Shopify editor. No setting is locked, and nothing goes through a quote.
